Cocoa Daisy Blog Hop!

Hi! Welcome to my stop on the Cocoa Daisy Day of Inspiration Blog Hop! You should have come from Sharmaine’s blog. If you’re starting here, be sure to go to the Cocoa Daisy blog and check out the rest of the team’s bags!

Here’s my Maya Road hip bag. I am afraid of fabric by nature, so I simply added some ribbon from my stash, stitched it on, added some flair and called it a day. I'm not the world's most capable seamstress, so I can't guarantee that the ribbon will stay on! :D

I’m going to be giving away THIS BAG, please leave a comment, and if you LIKE the Cocoa Daisy Facebook page and let me know, I’ll enter you a second time in my drawing! I’ll be closing the drawing on Monday the 6th of May at 8 AM EST. I’ll announce the winner here on May 8th. US ladies only, please. Good luck!

And that, my friends, is the end of the Cocoa Daisy blog hop, and it's time for me to send you back to where you startedI hope you've found a little inspiration on your trip!

Whew. And Cocoa Daisy

Things have been nuts here. I know I've said that before, but this time it's for real. Back in March, we made an offer on this:

It was accepted and ever since, things have been in a current state of disarray. We tried to get an early start on packing, so we have basically been living in the middle of stacks of boxes since the beginning of April.

This is our first home purchase, so we are super excited and also nervous. As we should be! Buying a house is a huge deal and we are trying our best to be as prepared as possible. Thankfully we have lots of family and friends who know how to paint and who will help us move at the end of May!

In the middle of the madness, I've still somehow found the time to scrap! Cocoa Daisy's May kit, Record Label  may just be my FAVORITE KIT EVER, and it hurts that I only had time to do three layouts this time around.

Kits are available now to subscribers and are available May 1 to everyone else!

The stamps I designed this time around were pretty awesome, too, especially these nerd glasses:

Days of the week and months of the year type keys:
Cutesy little speech bubbles:

The Day in the Life kit stamp:

And the main kit stamp:

Lots of goodness in this month, for sure.

Well, it's back to more prepping for the move for me! Many calls to make, many things to mark off my to-do list.

Happy Monday!

Cocoa Daisy Sketchbook: Revealed

Cocoa Daisy reveal night is upon us! It's one of my favorite nights...seeing all of the DT's layouts and reading what add-ons everyone got...and knowing that in a few days, those Daisy boxes will start arriving and we'll get to see what everyone made! I love being a part of this community for that reason alone.

The Main Kit is jam-packed with goodness (as all CD kits are), including lots of the new Allison Kreft line for Webster's Pages, woodgrain Thickers, a custom bookplate stamp (designed by yours truly), trims, camera transparencies, and much, much more. I'll be working with this one for quite a while.

Now on to Renderings! I was a bit nervous about all of the pastels in this one, but it has some great stuff in it! Vintage Jenni Bowlin tags, more yummy Webster's Pages, and lots of My Mind's Eye, one of my favs.

The Freehand add-on had some fantastic Dear Lizzy Flair, Amy Tan veneer tags and lots of stickers! Not to mention the Elle's Studio journaling tags. Yum.

Last but not least, is the Line Drawing add on. This one's packed with lovely,
just-released patterned papers. I used the heck out of the B-sides, and I still have tons left.

Here's what I made with it all:

And maybe my favorite minibook of all time:

I love seeing all of our photobooth pictures from the last few years.

Well, that's enough blabbing for today! Until next time...

It's 2013. Cocoa Daisy Sneaks.

And it's almost March.

I have been super busy since the new year started, doing freelance, working my full-time job, traveling and designing lots of things for Cocoa Daisy.

Speaking of, it's time for sneaks! I'd really like to get back into the habit of sharing again, so here goes! Sketchbook will be available to subscribers at 9pm EST on 2/28, and the rest goes up on 3/2 at midnight. Christine increased quantities for this one, since we'd been selling out so quickly!

And here are the stamps featured in the stamp subscription:

And one of my new cut files will be available for download!

Hope to see you at reveal tonight!

Cocoa Daisy: Aspen Grove Revealed!

Sorry I didn't get around to posting sneaks for October's Cocoa Daisy kit! I've had my hands full with photoshoots for seniors and headshots for some local companies, and I'm trying to find a good balance between processing photos, working, cooking and keeping the house clean.

This month's kit is so Fall, I love it! I got the main kit, Switchback, and Trailhead

Cocoa Daisy has also put together a Halloween Project Kit! Bag of Bones is full of vintage-y Halloween patterns and prints, and even a ribcage misting stencil! Wicked.

Now onto the projects!

This layout is is for my sweets. We will celebrate our fifth anniversary this November, and I thought it was appropriate to scrap our wedding photo! I never get tired of seeing or scrapping this photo.

Here is one from our most recent trip to Seattle. We got to visit the Starbucks HQ, make a few drinks in the kitchen and see where all of the 'Bux business goes down. SO much fun!

And how about these beauties? I had no choice but to scrap these delicious doughnuts that we got at VooDoo in Portland. I would give just about anything to have one of those maple bacon ones right about now.

One of my favorite things about this month's kit was, of course, the stamps!
I am stoked about this date stamp, and I love the washi tape...both are super versatile.

Speaking of Fall, who's excited? I've been cooking and baking up a storm since the heat broke a few weeks ago. I may or may not be making my second batch of Gingersnap Pumpkin Bars in a week ;p  Can't wait to see what the season brings!

Cocoa Daisy: He Said/She Said! (and Vacation)

So I've been meaning to blog my vacation since I got back! Which was, embarrassingly about two and a half weeks ago.

Our whirlwind trip took us from Atlanta to Seattle to Portland to Las Vegas to Nashville and finally back to Chattanooga. We were visiting our friends Aimee and CJ in Seattle, and Emily and Josiah in Portland.

On our first day in Seattle, we landed at the airport, then scooted over to Christina's house to meet up with her. She was, to say the least, a FANTASTIC tour guide during our stay. We went to Archie McPhee's for some silly/fun/ridiculous shopping, had a bite to eat in Fremont at 9 Million in Unmarked Bills, where the beer flowed and the burgers were tasty.

We pulled out our tourist card and ended up at––where else? The Space Needle.

This view is totally worth $18.

So happy to have spent this night with my girls!

On Thursday, we decided to hike at Mt. Ranier. Now, lots of people like to make jokes that Tennessee mountains aren't really mountains. I like to think that they're the same, just smaller and without snow.

Mt. Ranier was a BEAST. We did part of the Sunrise trail, and hiked about five miles round trip...I'm happy to say that I was having so much fun I wasn't paying attention to the distance.

Snow in August!

And, we saw a bear! I was scared out of my mind, so Bo was really sweet to take a photo.

That's the end of days one and two! I was lucky enough to have the September Cocoa Daisy kit at my doorstep when I got back, so I didn't waste any time scrapping some of my Instagrams from the trip:

Keep your eyes out for more photos soon!
